CLC North-West
Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Our ambition is to lead activities and develop strategies, actions and interventions across three key focus areas.
Firstly, we are dedicated to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion. We aim to harness the potential of the Cultural & Creative sector by facilitating strategies for business and public organisations, helping them share their experiences and best practices with other sectors and communities, to build an inclusive cultural and creative sector in our society.
Secondly, we support European business development for our partners, with a particular emphasis on start-ups and scale-ups in the creative sector, that we support with programmes to innovate, scale and create lasting positive change in society.
Lastly, hosted by the City of Amsterdam, the CLC provides an urban perspective, with a special focus on inclusive governance. We see the city as an experimental space and co-developer of CCSI solutions for societal challenges, and as a platform for outreach and collaboration.
Besides these key areas of the CLC North West – we support partners from education, business and public organisations by providing access to markets, knowledge, talent and skills across Europe.
Additionally, we assist local partners in implementing EIT Culture & Creativity strategies, strengthen local innovation ecosystems, and expand the regional network by engaging stakeholders.
As the City of Amsterdam and host organisation of CLC North West - Amsterdam, we are delighted that the CLC is located at the heart of Amsterdam. Culture and the arts are woven into the fabric of the city. The City of Amsterdam is recognising the value that art and culture have for our city. It's part of our city's DNA, whether it's fine art, heritage, night culture, photography or dance: the numerous makers and cultural institutions are an invaluable part of our city. Almost 10% of the people working in Amsterdam have a job in the cultural and creative sector. The culture we have to offer in Amsterdam is also a key driver in encouraging businesses to set up in the city and drawing visitors from around the world.
