At EIT Culture & Creativity, we believe that thriving in today's world requires more than sustainability alone: it demands resilience. The ability to adapt, recover and flourish in the face of uncertainty is not optional, it is essential for Europe's Cultural and Creative Sectors and Industries (CCSI).
The Resilience Roadmaps project helps cultural and creative organisations navigate complexity and uncertainty while building long-term systemic resilience. We're on a mission to radically shift how the sector understands and embodies resilience, moving from reactive survival to proactive transformation.
Why resilience matters now
We live in a time of converging crises: ecological breakdown, political instability, digital disruption and democratic fragility. These challenges demand more than incremental adaptation. They require cultural and creative organisations to develop genuine resilience, the capacity to transform while staying true to purpose amidst continuous upheaval.
Cultural institutions are essential infrastructure for democratic life. They shape how societies imagine the future, process change and build collective capacity. The Resilience Roadmaps project recognises this vital role and provides the frameworks, tools and community support needed to strengthen it.
