Supervisory Board

The Supervisory Board (SB) supervises both EIT Culture & Creativity e.V., a non-profit association, and the KIC Legal Entity, EIT Culture and Creativity GmbH. It guides and supports the EIT Culture & Creativity’s Management Team, its policy and course of action and the general conduct of affairs, considering the interests and concerns of the KIC’s stakeholders as well as the EIT regulations.

Advisory Boards

EIT Culture & Creativity is proud to count on the expertise and commitment of two boards to advise the Management in implementing activities in line with IP and ethical best practices.

Governance structure

EIT Culture & Creativity governance is carefully designed to comply with the EIT Good Governance Principles. Our organisation is legally composed of several entities, all coordinated from Cologne, Germany, under German law:

  1. EIT Culture & Creativity e.V.: A non-profit association
  2. The Knowledge and Innovation Community Legal Entity (KIC LE): A limited company (GmbH)
  3. The Regional Hubs: These are established as separate GmbH subsidiaries, incorporated under the respective national laws of their host countries.

Our history

The founding of EIT Culture & Creativity took place during the Start-Up Grant Agreement (SUGA) period, which ran from 1 October 2022, to 31 December 2023 (Grant ID 101112064).

This was an intensely busy period marked by significant milestones, including:

  • the incorporation of all legal entities;
  • the establishment of core teams and the wider community;
  • and the awarding of our very first grants through the initial call for proposals.

This rapid progress would not have been possible without the dedication of the SUGA consortium partners and support teams. Specifically, the Coordinator, Fraunhofer ISC in Würzburg, was responsible for ensuring the proper implementation of all legal and administrative requirements set by the granting authority, the EIT.

Following the SUGA period, the Strategic Agenda 2024–2027 for EIT Culture & Creativity was formally approved by the General Assembly of EIT CCSI e.V. on 7 June 2024.
