EIT Culture & Creativity Regional Hub North is bringing its community together in Riga, Latvia on 18 March for its first Open Day of 2026.

Hosted at the Riga Technical University, Institute of Architecture and Design, the event will dive into sustainable business practices in the cultural and creative sectors and industries – and what it takes to build a thriving creative economy.

This is the first in a series of Open Days happening across EIT Culture & Creativity's six Regional Hubs throughout the year, each designed to spark connections and collaborations within local ecosystems across Europe.

Based in Helsinki, the Regional Hub North covers Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden, and parts of Northern Germany and Poland. The Hub works to strengthen the region's creative sectors – from gaming and design to architecture and audiovisual media – and drive innovation through cultural practices.

The Open Day will bring together entrepreneurs, policymakers, researchers, students, and creative practitioners to explore collaboration opportunities and learn how to participate in upcoming activities and open calls from EIT Culture & Creativity.

On the morning of 19 March, participants can join an optional tour of Riga to visit local creative organisations.

The event is organised with support from RTU Science & Innovation Centre, EIT Community Hub Latvia, Creativity Lab Latvia, and Latvia's Ministry of Culture.
