ABOUT EIT CULTURE & CREATIVITY

EIT Culture & Creativity is the institutional partnership dedicated to helping European cultural and creative sectors and industries (CCSI) to become more sustainable, resilient, and competitive.

Launched in 2023 by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, an EU body, we provide access to funding, knowledge, and tailored support. As part of the largest European innovation network, we build lasting connections between research, industry, academia, and cultural institutions.

  • Our vision is to fundamentally strengthen the CCSI as a vital force for transformation—economically, socially, and environmentally.
  • Our mission is to drive responsible growth in and beyond the CCSI through innovation, education, business creation and societal transformation.

Our first focus is on five key areas: architecture, gaming, fashion, cultural heritage, audio-visual and media. We support innovators every step of the way to scale their ideas, translate innovation into impact, and redefine what entrepreneurship means today.

We are present across 30 countries, with our HQ in Cologne, and Regional Hubs in Amsterdam, Barcelona, Bologna, Helsinki, Košice, and Vienna — building a powerful ecosystem that transcends silos, sectors and localization.

We believe that culture and creativity are not luxuries, but constitute a critical infrastructure for resilience, renewal and economic growth. Whether you are a creative innovator, a company, a university, a research center, a cultural institution, an investor, a policymaker, a civic leader or someone on a learning journey, we invite you to join us in imaging desirable futures for Europe.

 BRAND & VISUAL DESIGNER

1 PART-TIME POSITION AT EIT CULTURE & CREATIVITY (Permanent contract, all genders)

ABOUT THE POSITION

We’re looking for Brand & Visual Designer who blends strategic visual thinking with robust, hands-on production experience to join our Marketing & Communications team.

You will act as a conceptual thought-partner to the team, translating complex organizational goals into compelling visual campaigns, while remaining fully engaged in creating and executing the assets yourself.

You’ll collaborate closely with the department’s Director and Communication Managers. This role requires a highly collaborative individual who can switch fluidly between high-level brand governance and daily design production.

ABOUT THE TASK & MISSION

As Brand & Visual Designer, your key responsibilities will be:

Conceptual Visual Brand Strategy & Governance

  • Campaign Ideation & Co-Design: Partner with the Director and Communication Managers from the initial briefing stage to shape campaign strategies, define target audiences, and establish overarching visual frameworks.

  • Brand Evolution & Leadership: Partner with the Director in leading the development and governance of the organization’s long-term visual brand strategy, including rewriting visual guidelines and rolling out an expanded, comprehensive brand book

  • Strategic Visual Storytelling: Translate complex, high-level subject matter (such as policy, partner data, and EU affairs) into intuitive, high-impact visual narratives.

  • Creative Asset Oversight: Serve as the internal creative authority when supervising multiple touchpoints and cross-departmental design initiatives to ensure strict brand alignment across the entire organization.

  • Visual Trend Innovation: Proactively identify industry design trends and emerging visual technologies to keep the organization's messaging modern, forward-thinking, and competitive.

Design Production & Execution

  • Digital & Print Asset Creation: Formulate and execute high-quality layouts for digital and print formats, including the website, leaflets, infographics, presentations, and publications.

  • Multimedia & Community Content: Produce engaging social media assets for LinkedIn and Instagram, alongside creative collateral for the Digital Hub (our community platform).

  • Motion Design: Create motion-design content and basic video assets to elevate our digital and social media storytelling.

Project Support: Manage your own asset pipelines, organize project timelines, and support physical/digital events with necessary visual materials

THE REQUIREMENTS

To be successful in your role, you must have:

  • Education: A degree in graphic design, visual communications, visual arts, or equivalent
    professional experience.
  •  Experience: Solid experience in professional design environments, with a proven track record of
bridging the gap between strategic briefs and final execution.
  • Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency with design software, including Photoshop, Illustrator,
InDesign, and dedicated motion design tools.
  • Conceptual Thinking: A strong portfolio demonstrating an ability to develop holistic creative
concepts, rather than just isolated assets.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Outstanding ability to pitch, explain, and defend visual strategies
to non-creative stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Mindset: A proactive, can-do attitude with a passion for human-centered design and strategic
    communication.
  • Fluency in English; additional European languages are an advantage.

WE OFFER

  • Annual gross salary €36,000–€39,000/year for a part-time position (3/3.5 days-week) openended
    contract.
  • An annual performance-based bonus opportunity of up to 10% of the annual gross salary, subject
    to individual and company performance.
  • Participation in building a company with ambition to contribute to the future of Europe.
  • Fast and flat processes, direct internal communication, low hierarchies, and freedom to operate.
  • An organization with a dynamic and friendly team with modern and well-located office facilities
and the flexibility to work remotely.
  • Exposure to one of Europe's largest innovation ecosystems.
  • International and multicultural working environment.
