We at the South East & Alps Regional Hub are excited to embark on this journey to create a level playing field for the CCSI. By focusing on the topic of New Materials, we aim to engage regional stakeholders and build a unique CCSI ecosystem that goes beyond traditional national and sector boundaries.
Our Regional Ambition
Starting in summer 2024, the South East & Alps Regional Hub (SEA Regional Hub) will begin its initiatives to connect the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCSI) in the South East Alps region with leading European research and educational institutions.
Our aim is to support students, start-ups, solo entrepreneurs, and SMEs in developing innovative products and services that reflect a strong European brand identity—contributing transformative solutions to the European innovation model.
The hub will focus on the themes of next materials, new work, and new processes, exploring how the creative industries can support the green, digital, and social transitions through innovative approaches.
Special thanks go to Kreativwirtschaft Austria, whose long-standing advocacy for the establishment of EIT Culture & Creativity made the founding of the hub in Austria possible. We also warmly thank the Vienna Business Agency for its active support.

As Kreativwirtschaft Austria and host organisation of the South East & Alps Regional Hub, we are delighted that the Regional Hub for the European South East Alps region has been established in Vienna. With the support of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber and the Federal Ministry of Labour and Economy, Kreativwirtschaft Austria has achieved a significant milestone for the creative industries as drivers of innovation. This underscores the leading role of the Austrian CCSI in innovation and in the context of the Triple Transition—the digital, ecological, and social transformation. EIT Culture & Creativity provides European-level support to the creative industries, facilitating networking and the development of creative innovation ecosystems. We look forward to the emergence and promotion of numerous creative start-ups and innovation projects that will further strengthen the sector.
